Java Developer Job

Position:       Java/J2EE Developer
Reports to:      VP of Development

Job summary:

• Participate as a key member of the software development team; directly involved in project planning and estimation as part of an Agile team.
• Involved with the collecting, analyzing and clarification of requirements for new product features.
• Development of new product functionality at all levels within the product from the database to the User Interface.
• Responsible for software maintenance tasks on the core product.
• Provide technical support, expertise and advice to other areas/teams within the company.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Expertise in Object Oriented development
• Development experience with complex distributed systems
• Experience with database integration and O/R mapping frameworks (EJB, JPA or Hibernate)
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications Required:

• 5+ years of commercial Java development, including J2EE

Abilities & Skills Required for Success:

• Familiar with virtualization and cloud computing technologies
• Experience working with the Spring framework
• A background in User Interface and Web application design
• Self motivated with a strong desire to make a difference
